Without fear of contradiction, I think it is easily understandable to anyone how sneakers have turned into an art object in their own right, inspiring and stimulating artists of all kinds. 
Just to give you an example, until September 11 at SCAD FASH in Atlanta, Georgia, there is an exhibition going on entitled “Face Value” and consisting of an exhibition of the incredible masks of Los Angeles-based artist Gary Lockwood aka Freehand Profit. Over 30 masks made using only sneakers. 

A new project titled “NIKE-deconstruction”, has caught the attention of the sneaker and art worlds.

Created by Chinese artist UV-朱, his work explores the sneaker universe, and in a new way, making absolutely bizarre patterns using only sustainable materials and layering them, one on top of the other.
The result is what you see below, not bad indeed!
