ORBE, the design brand for Gen Z

Last month, the English designer Jobe Burns launched ORBE, a design brand that focuses on habits, identity, and our everyday lives. The intention of this project is to expand beyond furniture components and offer services for everyday life. It’s a small revolution in the world of design as we know it. Jobe Burns’ studio aims to be an experimental environment for designers who want to explore their own ideas, even the most spontaneous ones. The production is 98% based in England, which is no easy task these days. The English designer’s experience, who – together with Samuel Ross – launched Concrete Objects a few years ago, is rich in experimentation, especially with brutalist architecture. Among the many collaborations, we remember those with Suicoke and Nike, which have made both designers famous in the fashion world as well.

Initially, ORBE has a collection titled “Soft Launch” that focuses on incredibly soft and comfortable pieces made with Kvadrat fabrics. A chair that transforms into a table is the perfect example among these products to describe ORBE’s intention of promoting the idea of multifunctional objects. But not only that, scrolling through the brand’s images, it seems clear that Burns and his team are ready to think about design according to the needs of the new generations, bringing new energy to the world of UK-made design.

The Mono-Compact Bench is a bench designed for various uses. It has a playful approach, just like the case of the Pluff Cylinder Lounge, an incredibly soft cone on which one can lie down and relax, combining it with the Pluff, Lean on me.
