Art is known to be a kind of therapy, this is what Toni Hamel, a Toronto artist, must have thought.
Fascinated by the study of psychology and human behavior, including the profound social dynamics, the author in every painting is the creator of a parallel world. Through her paintings, Toni tries to give vent to the subconscious and the most irrational part of man: and this is how absurdity and paradox become protagonists.

Giant giraffes that are painted, pencils emerging in the middle of a forest, men measuring the circumference of a cloud … everything merges and gives rise to a dimension suspended in time.

Through art, everyone has the opportunity to manifest not only the most creative and imaginative aspect of the human being but also the most hidden one: the human rational side isn’t able to explain the deep reason of a phenomenon. All that remains is to free these visions on the canvas and observe the strange spectacle of the subconscious.
