Plantea is an architecture studio founded in Madrid in 2008 by Lorenzo Gil, Luis Gil and Jose Silva, who made the restyling of the dated Cinema Alba in Madrid. This space, specialized in red light projection, was closed in 2016. The team of architects has totally renovated the structure to make it an elegant cine-bar, which now has the name of Sala Equis.
Now, thanks to this renewal intervention, the cinema has acquired a new look and has become an elegant place, which does not want to lose that decadent charm linked to the past: this is how the vintage element becomes an added value and gives character to a space eclectic that, depending on the needs, can become a restaurant, cocktail bar, gallery or design shop. The projection room is characterized by a skylight, which delicately filters light and 64 chairs covered with rust-colored velvet, which gives character. The red neon light highlights the actual origins of the place and creates the right atmosphere during projections and concerts.
In the amphitheater, there is a smaller screen and it is the right place to be able to make new acquaintances, sitting on pine and iron benches, covered with soft cushions, or swinging on the swing.
