Pressing matters is a new fundraising project involving the UK music and creative industries. The initiative, organised by Music Support and curated by creative duo Pavement Licker, sees 66 UK artists and musicians join forces to support all those working in the music industry who are affected by addiction and mental illness.
Musicians, labels and managers – some of the biggest names in the industry – have donated vinyls, prints and acetates of their records to a range of contemporary artists. United by consistency of genre and subject matter, the creative pairs challenged each other to create novel interpretations and remakes of the covers.
The results see dream pairs such as David Shrigley and Chic, Jeremy Deller and James Blake, Larry Achiampong and Michael Kiwanuka, Joy Yamusangie and Underworld, Sarah Maple and Frank Turner, Jean Jullien and Idles, James Joyce and Fatboy Slim, Jamie Reid and Slowthai.

The works created for the occasion are on display and auctioned at Matches Fashion‘s space in London until 29 May 2021. All profits from Pressing Matters will be donated to the charity Music Support.
