From September 6 to 12 for the Berlin Fashion Week, Reference Studio, the communication agency founded in 2017, in collaboration with Shinkel Pavillon presents during Reference Festival the project Disappearing Berlin, an event that promotes cultural and artistic activities involving the German capital and its history. Theater of the event is in fact a symbolic site of West Berlin as Bierpinsel, which will host the festival that stands as an interdisciplinary platform, physical and virtual, in which the main focus is fashion.
Concept of the festival will be “Protopia” – evolution of the concepts of dystopia and utopia – a term coined by futurist Monika Bielskyte to indicate a future multiverse, formed by several alternative plans determined by our every decision and indecision.

Among the protagonists there will be brands, magazines and important realities of the Berlin fashion scene such as 032c, Kobosil’s 44 Label Group, Carhartt WIP, deadHYPE, Do You Read Me?!, GmbH, Jack Wolfskin, OTTOLINGER, Phipps, Protopia Futures, Richert Beil, Rudi Gernreich, Wild Animals, but also a program of events related to music. In what is one of the most stimulating cities when it comes to the exchange of creative experiences, Reference Festival aims precisely at enhancing cultural exchange.
