Imagining an apocalyptic world in which the few survivors must rebuild houses out of all kinds of rubble, French artist Simon Laveuve has created his series of dilapidated miniatures, models assembled with extreme accuracy.
The shacks are thought of as small housing units, some ideally recreating iron containers, others old crumbling wooden cottages, above which you can still see signs of businesses no longer needed in this new world. Simon Laveuve realizes these decadent miniatures on grassy knolls or on small islands floating in the sky, which makes everything even more surreal, coming from a future world.
Advertising survives, an old memory of the era when humans lived in large buildings and not on precarious scaffolding topping piles of garbage, tires and wooden planks.
