Simone Rocha and her frightening utopia for Moncler Genius

A frightening fantasy of Fellini’s memory, that of the designer Simone Rocha who cites the Rimini-based filmmaker as a source of inspiration for her latest collaboration with Moncler.
A dreamlike and dark vision that hovers between dream and nightmare, the dance that is the leitmotif of the fashion film through which Moncler told the collection 4 Moncler Simone Rocha that is part of the Genius project for Fall/Winter 20.

The short film was shot by Canadian photographer and director Petra Collins and scrutinizes this dark dream/incubus of the protagonist following her movements. The world of dance was the starting point from which the designer, born in Dublin in 1986, started the collection: tulle outerwear, semi-opaque vinyl coats with squeezed waist, floral puffs, frills, the trench coat reinterpreted with rounded profiles, voluminous and decorated with pearls and crystals, trapeze dresses in light down covered in tulle and nylon anoraks embellished with ruffles.

The game of proportions, the models “swallowed up” by the fabrics and the gloomy, unknown and ambiguous imagery increase the desire to explore and learn, stimulate our curiosity.
