Paolo Beghini’s conceptual illustrations

Paolo Beghini’s conceptual illustrations

Giulia Pacciardi · 2 years ago · Art

A past at the High School of Technology, the awareness of not wanting to wear a white lab coat for a lifetime, a great passion for drawing and a sea change that allowed him to transform a hobby in his work.
He is the illustrator Paolo Beghini, a 25 year old young man from Imola, who after his scientific experience chose first the Academy of Fine Arts in Urbino and then to specialize himself as a communication and multimedia technician with an IFTS course in Bologna.

Like so many illustrators before him, Paolo believes that his work is not simply artistic and creative but a means to communicate a concept understandable to a large public.

Here you can find a selection of Paolo’s illustration, but you can find all of them here.

Perspéntico, the big blue cat by street artist Liqen

Perspéntico, the big blue cat by street artist Liqen

Giulia Pacciardi · 2 years ago · Art

A few months ago, in the city of Porto, more than 60 artists took part in the Verão é no Porto, an initiative of PortoLazer to give summer patrons the opportunity to live in a different way the characteristic Portuguese city.

Among these, there is also the street artist Liqen who, to pay homage to the city, has moved away from his usual complex style while managing to maintain the typical features of his art.
Perspéntico, this is the name that he wanted to give his big blue cat, a color chosen to take up the iconic Azulejo of ceramics, is located inside the smallest street in Porto, which, for reasons of size, forces the viewer to get closer to discovering his work in its entirety.

Perspéntico, who on his shoulders supports the weight of a city, wants to demonstrate how nature is much stronger than everything we build, stronger than the technology we use and, through the symbol of the skeleton of a tourist, also expresses the artist’s opinion on globalization.

Jillian Evelyn’s crumpled women

Jillian Evelyn’s crumpled women

Giulia Pacciardi · 2 years ago · Art

Jillian Evelyn is an artist based in Los Angeles whose paintings are a mix of sensations, feelings and stories of the past.

Everything in her paintings belongs to her memories and experiences, particularly a bad break-up and the way she uses colors.
Her most recurrent protagonists are the female bodies naked, tangled, bent, pushed down by an invisible force that represents the pressures of society and the oppressive expectations that control us.
In her paintings there is a strong sensation of claustrophobia that forces the bodies not to use space, to remain injured in a small corner, a sensation that is slightly mitigated only by the strong and bright tones that create the contrast.

Jillian’s work often fights against censorship which, more interested in nude than in the meaning, often blocks the contents of her page considered Not Safe For Work.
