It was last year when the Swedish furniture giant, IKEA, announced its collaboration with Chris Stamp, the Los Angeles-based designer and owner of the STAMPD brand.
The collection called SPÄNST, which in Swedish means elasticity, is aimed at young audiences to which the designer himself belongs.
Although it will only be available from May 2018, a small preview was presented during the men’s fashion week through an installation made of lights.
Chris Stamp X IKEA aims to reach young people by offering them design pieces created for streetwear and all the mechanisms it conceals.
With his minimalist and monochrome style, he offers design pieces designed to show the garments that, according to the designer, nobody wants to hide behind the old generation wardrobes.
Combining materials such as wood, leather and plexiglass, he wants to allow his public to showcase and protect their garments, giving the design of IKEA a push towards modern lifestyles and collecting.
