Our research of Instagram profiles absolutely to know continues and the account we discovered this week does not differ much from last week’s one, Tits from the Past, since we are faced, once again, with paintings. I’m talking about STUPID ART, a profile that presents us with a series of paintings, more or less famous, in which the characters is given a voice.
But the words, instead of following the subject, are often irreverent and out of context, creating a disorienting contrast between image and text. For example, in the famous Arnolfini Portrait by Jan van Eyck, husband and wife have an exchange of jokes out of their time, bringing them closer to our mentality.
