Pra Van Der Ree is a text and image web editor who currently works as a communications manager at the Het Nieuwe Instituut in Rotterdam, where she resides. On her website, the artist explains:

“I take pictures, not for a living, but for reasons that I’m not quite sure of yet”.

The representation of the landscape is minimal, essential, so much so that sometimes it seems almost bare. Each scene immortalizes places that appear depopulated and immense: it seems that the human presence isn’t necessary to the landscape, which at the same time in many shots is presented anthropized, only in some cases the human filter fails, showing the places captured by Petra as places lost and wild.

The presence of man is tangible and whispered: the landscapes find a new location, where the narrative rhythm is timed by football pitches, clothes fluttering in the wind, buildings that overlook the natural environment and suddenly, lost hills, glades and sea.
