Stüssy‘s latest project aims to celebrate and pay proper tribute to one of the most decisive and multifaceted artists on the entire British scene, music producer, visual artist and DJ Goldie.
Early in his career Goldie managed to achieve moderate success as a graffiti artist and then became a key figure in the British jungle, drum and bass, and breakbeat hardcore scene of the 1990s. His work over the years evolved as he co-founded the Metalheadz record label with Kemistry & Storm in 1994.
His notoriety then skyrocketed, even ending up, in 1999, playing the character of Mr. Bullion in the 19th James Bond film, The World Is Not Enough. For Goldie, there was no shortage of honors from an institutional standpoint either; in fact, in 2016 he was awarded the MBE (Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) for his commitment to music and his approach to youth.
The collaboration between Stüssy and Goldie consists of a limited-edition capsule collection consisting of white oxford shirts, a fishtail parka, and colorful sweaters, all featuring a custom Stüssy logo conceived, designed, and painted by Goldie.
The Stüssy & Goldie collaborative collection is already available at all of the California brand’s chapter stores and online.
