Arianna Lago‘s fairy-tale photographs arrive at Tempesta Gallery in Milan for the photographer’s first solo exhibition, from 23 June to 23 September. The exhibition is entitled Surrender, a term that best sums up the poetics of the Los Angeles-based photographer. “The creative process,” the photographer explains, “is littered with the unexpected and unexpected moments“. Lago’s research is fluid and she lets herself be carried away by the moment, by what the world offers her, following the principle of serendipity.

The photographs on show at Tempesta Gallery sum up a six-year journey centred on the discovery of the unexpected, encapsulating the photographer’s most iconic shots. The universe Arianna Lago creates is dictated by her curiosity, in which emotions and delicate sensations are evoked by pastel colours and the encounter between human and nature. The connection with the organic releases freedom and lightness and invites viewers to seek a peaceful place, like a kind of ‘natural escape’. Her intimate and spontaneous style combined with analogue makes her photos incredibly real and true, despite the ‘fairytale’ aspect dictated by the magic of nature.

The exhibition can be visited during these hours 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. / 2.30 p.m. – 6.30 p.m. at Tempesta Gallery in Foro Buonaparte, 68, Milan
