During Milan Design Week, which ended today, five rooms of the Vogue Italia office opened their doors. And in all five, there was something extra to discover about the world of fashion and the behind-the-scenes of fashion publishing. This is the second year for The Vogue Closet, an opportunity that allows us to take a peek into the magical dimension of this magazine. The setup was conceptualized by (AB)NORMAL, reinterpreting the spaces to allow the magazine to tell its story and convey concepts, reflections, and graphics. The Vogue Closet experience remains one of the most interesting experiences of this Milan Design Week for fashion enthusiasts.

The first room is Inside Backstage, the quintessential fashion closet that aims to show the behind-the-scenes of the magazine’s most iconic covers and shoots, all to be discovered in this immersive experience. Moving on to the Icon Archive, a three-dimensional collection of Lele Acquarone‘s Scrapbooks, a historic figure of Vogue Italia who has created a personal vocabulary made up of photographs, watercolors, word games, and clothing.

One of the rooms that struck us the most, however, is the one born from the collaboration with Mattel Creations, Creating What’s Next. It’s a space that demonstrates Mattel’s influence on the creators, designers, and artists of today and tomorrow. The toys on display have become art in their own right, and art, in turn, becomes a toy. Among the most iconic pieces is certainly the Kartell x Barbie collaboration and the limited edition Hot Wheels by Daniel Arsham.

The other rooms revolve around the theme of The Sound of Closet, a space dedicated to meetings and sound exploration, and 60 Years of Freedom, in collaboration with Ford Mustang.
