Escif is a Spanish street artist with a unique style that makes him one of the most unusual and relevant protagonists of the world scene, we talked about him some time ago, here.
This time he came back again to discuss him with his latest work entitled “This too shall pass“, a huge wooden sculpture of four tons, about 20 meters high.

The work took years of preparation before it was finished and represents a woman in a meditation pose, and was installed for the Fallas, although the festivities were cancelled.
The Fallas are traditional festivities of international tourist interest and have been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
They take place every year in the Spanish city of Valencia and several villages in the Valencian Community region from the last Sunday of February to March 19, are celebrated in honour of St. Joseph, patron saint of carpenters.
At the end of the celebrations, all the works are burned.

In the last few days, however, Escif has modified his work, because of the covid-19, adding a huge mask to the woman’s face.
Suddenly this image has become a symbol of peace and calm, unity and solidarity,” said the artist.
So thanks to the support of the people, the government of Valencia has decided to burn only the body of the sculpture and keep the face with the mask in the square, in the hope that everyone will finish as quickly as possible.
