The “post-human” world: a set of infinite loops

Giulia Guido

What would the world be like if humans suddenly disappeared? What would happen to all the mechanisms and technological devices if there was no one left to turn them off? French illustrator and animator Geoffroy de Crécy has given his personal vision of a “post-human” world using loops.

His short film made 5 years ago is called “Loops” and consists of a series of animated illustrations that repeat themselves endlessly.

“Loops” can also be considered the draft of one of his most recent works, “Empty Places”, with which he was included in the initial list of short films in contention to be nominated for an Oscar in the Best Animated Short Film category.
