Moncler and Platon celebrate 70 years of the Italian brand

On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Moncler, founded in 1952 in Monestier-de-Clermont, France by René Ramillon and André Vincent, hired photographer Platon to make the fashion film “Maya 70 Collaborations”, which debuted in London during The Extraordinary Expedition.

A journey that takes fans and non-fans alike through the history of Moncler and its future starting with the brand’s latest campaign.

The 4-minute film presents the seven collaborations made for the Maya 70 down jackets through very intimate interviews with the talents involved in the project such as: Thom Browne, Hiroshi Fujiwara per FRGMT, Rick Owens, Pierpaolo Piccioli, Francesco Ragazzi per Palm Angels, Giambattista Valli and Pharrell Williams.

“This anniversary is an important moment for us as we look back at the path taken, whilst looking ahead to the future based on what we have learnt and what we continue to dream. Since the very first day, nothing at Moncler has been conventional nor ordinary. Sometimes I ask myself who would have thought that a sleeping bag designed in 1952 would have reached cities all over the world as a down jacket, would have been worn by all generations, stepped onto the runways and then be reinterpreted by various creative geniuses. Since the beginning we have always pushed the brand and our ambitions towards higher peaks”, said Remo Ruffini, chairman and CEO of Moncler S.p.A.
