“Rest in Peace,” a short film about politics’ art of hiding problems

Criticism of politics does not have to be by force fierce and violent. It can also be done through an animated short film. That’s exactly what Deborah Balboa, Karien Benz, Kai-Hsun Chan, Aparna Hegde, Yuk Yan Tsoi, the five Gobelins School students who made the short film “Rest in Peace” as their graduation project, thought.

The story is set in a small town where all the citizens are happy, where there are no problems and the governor is loved.
Apparently, there are no problems.
Apparently.

The five young authors wanted to criticize some aspects of politics, taking inspiration from the situation in their countries of origin: India, Taiwan, Mexico, South Africa and Hong Kong.
