The official trailer for “The First Slam Dunk”

Scheduled to be released on December 3 in Japan, today the highly anticipated first trailer for “The First Slam Dunk”, the CGI film based on one of the spokon manga-the Japanese term for a particular genre of manga and anime whose stories are set in the world of sports and feature athletes as protagonists-and anime among the most beloved and followed of all time, Slam Dunk, was released.
This first trailer shows us almost exclusively the kind of animation we will later find in the movies because of the plot there is complete secrecy for now.
The anime series never ended, so it is likely that the characters’ stories will meander in a direction that could probe the ground for a new season of the anime, as well as give us a broader look at the whole story.

The series tells the story of Hanamichi Sakuragi, a teenager who falls in love with Haruko Akagi after being rejected by 50 other girls. However, because Haruko is in love with Kaede Rukawa, a popular and talented basketball player, Sakuragi decides to join the Shohoku High School basketball team in order to get past Rukawa and make Haruko fall in love with him. As he starts learning to play basketball with Shohoku, Sakuragi begins to love basketball and is determined to become the best player on the team. On the team, Sakuragi meets Haruko’s older brother Takenori Akagi, who is also the captain, and two other players with violent pasts that led them to leave the sport long ago, Ryota Miyagi and Hisashi Mitsui. Together, these five players help make Shohoku one of the best high school teams in Japan.

“The First Slam Dunk” was written and directed by Takehiko Inoue, the author of the original manga, and produced by Toei Animation, will arrive in Japanese theaters on Dec. 3. We don’t have a European date yet but look forward to it.
