VANTABLACKZILCH

Ian James Araña, better known on Instagram as VANTABLACKZILCH, is an architect by training and an artist by vocation. His journey began with the city walls: vibrant murals capable of capturing the essence of urban life. It is among lines and colors that Araña found his first visual grammar, but it was during the pandemic that his language sharpened and took a clear direction.

The result is a style we can define as a synthesis between abstract expressionism and pop art, an explosion of energy that mixes free gestures with immediately recognizable references. The world of VANTABLACKZILCH is therefore the direct reflection of an authentic passion for pop culture, nourished by worlds that have always been part of his life: skateboarding, anime, music. Each work thus becomes a bridge between urban roots and a broader imagery, where spontaneity coexists with icons of contemporary culture.

Beyond visual art, Ian carries on another creative identity, that of a vinyl DJ. This is not a minor detail, but rather confirmation of a deep bond with the cultural movements that inspire him. Rhythm, sound, and visual matter intertwine, creating a coherent and multifaceted universe. In short, VANTABLACKZILCH brings together disciplines that aim to create a new language, capable of expressing the vitality of a generation in constant motion.
