Veronika Vegera is a Russian photographer who specialises in portraiture and whose favourite subjects are young women with whom she connects before photographing. In fact, as she tells on Instagram, the preparation for the shoot is as important as the actual taking of the photo. Veronika talks to her models, creating a bond that enriches them both and that is reflected in the final result. 

Once this special connection between subject and photographer has been created, Veronika Vegera doesn’t need anything else. A quick glance is all it takes to see how each of her shots focuses solely on faces and shapes. 

The only element used to give more expressiveness and mystery to the images is the light: sometimes it is only a beam that illuminates part of the face, other times it weakly illuminates the setting. 

From time to time, Veronika shifts her attention to flowers, a subject she approaches as if they were people, capturing elements and details from different perspectives.
