OFF-WHITE x IKEA, the complete collection with all the details

Claudia Fuggetti · 9 months ago · Design

Since last year’s release of the IKEA x OFF-WHITE collaboration, first with a live streaming video, then with the pop-up store at the Cité de la Mode et du Design in Paris, all the details about the collaboration with Virgil Abloh have now been publicized.

The collection, called MARKERAD, has the great characteristic of being, not only in line with the design by IKEA, but also with the pricing: in fact, the Swedish giant has made public the price list of entire series.

Among the pieces destined to become cult we find the carpet “Wet Grass” (229 euros), the deforming mirror (159 euros), the imitation of the Mona Lisa (49 euros) and the wall clock (25 euros). The brown shopping bag with the inscription “Sculpture”, which includes two models, the small one that will cost about 10 euros and the oversized one from 13, is also worth a visit. The “Keep off”, “Blue” and “Grey” rugs will be sold for between €79 and €229.

The launch of the collection is scheduled for next November. We remember that last April 30th, Abloh showed his followers a MARKERAD preview in live streaming from a secret location in New York, which you can find below:

On the IKEA website, you can immediately see the brand’s intent, which is to help Millennials furnish their homes with style and affordable prices:

“We’re looking at that first phase of adult life, when you start making purchases for your space”.

We are sure that this collection will be a success. And you?

Tomas Markevicius’ fashionable women

Tomas Markevicius’ fashionable women

Claudia Fuggetti · 9 months ago · Design

Lithuanian artist and art director Tomas Markevicius creates graphics that feature very fashionable women who stand out against brightly coloured backgrounds. It must be said that this is not by chance, Tomas has collaborated with fashion brands such as Prada, Nike, Miu Miu Miu, Hyundai, Samsung and the Metropolitan Museum Of Art.

His technique blends photography with digital art, where through digital brushstrokes, his protagonists take on a new look: pop, carefree and dynamic. A recurring characteristic is that of obscuring the face of her subjects, which become mannequins without identity, which are embedded in the colour.

LEGO IDEAS celebrates 90 years of Mickey Mouse with the Steamboat Willie

LEGO IDEAS celebrates 90 years of Mickey Mouse with the Steamboat Willie

Giulia Guido · 9 months ago · Design

It was on November 18, 1928, when the episode Steamboat Willie of the Mickey Mouse series was broadcast for the first time. This year, to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the most famous TV mouse, LEGO IDEAS decided to reproduce the famous cartoon steamboat, complete with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and the parrot.

In addition, the vaporetto will feature steam tubes that move up and down, paddle wheels that move when the boat is pushed, a working crane, a bell, a lifeboat, a potato crate and a guitar. To better celebrate the cardboard, the entire construction will also be in black and white.

Steamboat Willie will be available in a limited edition from 1 April and in the box, in addition to the 751 pieces, you can also find a booklet that tells the story of Mickey Mouse and the episode.

Discover the beauty of the Steamboat Willie by LEGO IDEAS in our gallery, where you will also find the entire episode of 1928.

Rombo IV, a minimalist style villa that lights up with neon at night

Rombo IV, a minimalist style villa that lights up with neon at night

Giulia Guido · 9 months ago · Design

In the rich Bosques de las Lomas neighborhood of Mexico City, Miguel Angel Aragones Architects has created Rombo IV, a modular villa that combines minimalism and pop.

Rombo IV has been built by assembling four modules, which has allowed to create openings and spaces in which the interior meets the exterior. The geometric, square and linear shapes are underlined by a strong use of mirrors and artificial ponds and fountains in which the structure is reflected, creating an optical illusion that opens up the spaces.

The peculiarity of Rombo IV, however, is its dual nature. During the day, the villa represents at best the minimalist current that many architects are undertaking, focusing on the exclusive use of white, large openings and furniture reduced to the bare minimum. With the setting of the sun and the arrival of darkness, the entire building is illuminated by dozens of colored neon lights, from pink to blue, transforming Rombo IV into a modern house, with a pop and futuristic style.

Fundamental, both during the day and at night, is the contrast that is created between architecture and nature, which continues to be a fundamental point for thousands of projects.
