COMME des GARÇONS cdgcdgcdg has released a new version of its iconic 1986 Staff Coat.

A transmuted lab coat, which became a catwalk outfit thanks to Rei Kawakubo, founder of the Japanese brand in 1969, when in the early 80s she reinvented a simple atelier lab coat with the date of the show and the CDG logo on the back.
This coat was distributed to all the staff who took care of the Spring/Summer 1986 COMME des GARÇONS show, and today cdgcdgcdg introduces a new wool version with nylon sleeves, a long row of buttons on the front, while on the back we find the words “Printemps-Été 1986 COMME des GARÇONS” in white.

Staff Coat is part of a larger project that sees cdgcdgcdgcdg, re-proposing in a contemporary way many items from those years that the staff wore behind the scenes during the fashion shows, such as the Spring ’86 T-shirts or the Fall/Winter 84/85 jacket.
The 1986 Staff Coat cdgcdgcdg is now available on the Japanese brand’s website.
