Icy and Sot are two young artists born in Tabriz, Iran, but currently living in Brooklyn, New York.
Their artistic career began in their home country around 2006, with the intention of leaving a tangible sign of revolt and protest, but not only, on the streets of their city.

Through their works they want to address sensitive and topical issues such as: human rights, detention, women’s rights, the conditions of migrants and refugees, climate change or the pitfalls of capitalism.
Their commitment and work is also reflected in the materials used in their works of art: barbed wire, iron wire, rusty old shovels or oil cans.
All the objects that artists use and personalize give life to works of art full of poetry and fragility.

However, Icy and Sot do not intend to preach to anyone, their works full of meaning and provocation just want to make the viewer reflect. As in their latest work: “Our house is on fire“.
An idea born from Greta Thunberg‘s famous speech, where the young Swede highlights the problems arising from climate change.
“We have to leave fossil fuels underground and we have to focus on equality and if solutions are impossible to find in this system it means that we have to change it. You have no more excuses and we have little time. We are here to let you know that change is coming, whether you like it or not.”

A speech that broke through the hearts of many, inviting change.
