Andrew Cadey, an English architect and illustrator, has created a series of drawings representing the buildings. Originally from Sussex, a historic county in southern England, he currently lives in southern London where he lives in an Art Deco apartment. Having worked as an architect for a long time, his work is not far from that world. In fact, the architectural theme is very strong in his creations, which are made by hand, using mainly paper and pen.

Tending to be all in black and white, his illustrations sometimes have exceptions of colors. These are usually used to represent flags on the window frames of buildings. The colour contrasts with the rest of the scenery and the meaning of the flag is even more evident, and the choice of the flag is never random. For example, those represented concern the European Union and the rainbow, a symbol of the LGBT community.

The buildings he prefers to design are public buildings, shops and private houses in Art&Crafts, Art Deco, brutalism – for instance, as the Velasca Tower was built in Milan – and modernist style.

The drawings are divided by areas of the London city such as Peckham, Pimlico, and Hampstead, type of activity if they are shops, private homes. On his Instagram profile, on the other hand, Andrew Cadey also shows various illustrations very inspired by his travels around the world, such as Casa Lorenzo, in Puglia.
