In a brief bio on his official website, Annibale Siconolfi defines himself as an artist, architect and builder of worlds. The last definition is the one that seems to best encapsulate the work of the Italian 3D artist.
Through his renderings, Siconolfi aka Inward creates futuristic cities and decadent spatial landscapes, in which a few plants find a place among concrete jungles, buildings that move and others built one on top of the other, in a scenario reminiscent of science fiction films such as Blade Runner, set in an uncertain future that is almost inaccessible even to man.

The inspirations for the landscapes created by Annibale Siconolfi come not only from Science Fiction, but also from the tendency of architects to create imaginary landscapes, a challenge that has always been taken up by designers and is now favoured by the great possibilities and realism achieved by 3D modelling techniques.
By creating landscapes made of neon in which nature has in some cases overpowered the human presence, the artist wants to represent certain environmental problems such as global warming and pollution. The decision to design buildings built into vertical walls and to depict the cities of the future as gigantic primitive temples also draws attention to another aspect that architects and town planners will have to deal with in the future, namely the continuing overpopulation of cities.
According to Inward, in the future we will be living in the cyberpunk world represented in films such as Interstellar, Akira, Inception, The Matrix and Planet of the Apes.
