A journey through the most famous places in the world along 58 looks. The lookbook shot by Patrick Welde shows us the models photoshopped in front of the most famous tourist spots on the planet, a choice that fully reflects our contemporary times, still made of distancing but of a forthcoming return (hopefully) to the possibility of being able to travel.
A unisex, easy-to-wear and oversize collection that continues along the lines of the typical aesthetics of the Spanish fashion house, the one outlined by its Creative Director Demna Gvasalia.
A re-imagining of the 90’s-inspired normecore with coats, jackets, parkas and hoodies; other items are inspired by wedding dresses with motifs that recall roses, lace and ribbons, such as a one-size-fits-all black coat that is deliberately disproportionate in size.
Accompanying the Balenciaga Pre-Fall 2021 lookbook is a video titled “Feel Good Video”, created in collaboration with Kamilya Kuspanova and Anton Bialas.
This video does not showcase the products in the collection nor does it appear to be a “canonical” advertising campaign, but it is designed to “evoke a positive emotion using images and sounds that have been scientifically proven to instill joy in most people”, in fact, the video is composed of a series of images and mood clips that invoke that desire for normalcy and serenity that we desire more than anything else.
