Benjamin Garcia is a Venezuelan artist born in 1986 who creates paintings with a dynamic and contemporary style. Initially influenced by cartoonists such as Moebius and Bill Sienkiewicz, he later dedicated himself to painting. Among the artists who have influenced him most, we find Lucian Freud, Jenny Saville and Kent Williams from whom he inherited the passion for a dreamlike world exploration, sometimes cloudy, which pervades the human mind.
Lines of his drawings are decisive, contorted and powerful as if to underline a sort of doubling of reality, which becomes the pretext for inner world discovery.
His production is mainly composed of portraits, where this fragmentation of the faces hides perhaps deeper themes such as the exploration of the personality and the doubling of the ego.
