Since Daniel Lee left the directorship of Bottega Veneta, all the heavy expectations have passed on the shoulders of his replacement, Matthieu Blazy.
Unveiled in February this year, Blazy’s first signature collection was well received by critics and the public alike mainly because he immediately succeeded in conveying his own vision of the fashion house, bringing together Bottega Veneta’s typical aesthetic features with a luxurious contemporaryness that is extremely elegant and pragmatic.
The Italian fashion house recently unveiled its Fall 2022 campaign – shot between Italy and Belgium – that reflects what is the brand’s identity, which, despite the change at the helm, has not changed by continuing to focus on expansion and cosmopolitanism.
“Bottega Veneta was created by a collective of artisans. This is the history, and this is how we approached the campaign: together, with many different ways of seeing”, Blazy stated. Who then added: “Bottega Veneta is in essence pragmatic because it is a leather goods company. Because it specializes in bags it is about movement, of going somewhere; there is fundamentally an idea of craft in motion. It is style over fashion in its timelessness. That is part of its quiet power”.
