After playing the bard who sings the tale of Odysseus, Travis Scott wasted no time launching a capsule with his brand Cactus Jack in collaboration with The Odyssey.
The collection is made up of two t-shirts, a long sleeve and a tote bag printed with lines and quotes from the film. But those aren’t the pieces stealing the spotlight — that honor goes to the two sneakers made in collaboration with Nike, which aren’t actually for sale. As stated in the brand’s Instagram post, the two pairs, the Cactus Jack x The Odyssey Nike Moon Shoe and the Cactus Jack x The Odyssey Nike ACG Moc, are a gift exclusively for the cast and crew who worked on the film.

The first, the Cactus Jack x The Odyssey Nike Moon Shoe, reworks the iconic 1972 running silhouette (long since a target for auction bidding wars — an original pair fetched $437,500 in 2019). Scott’s version runs on black tumbled leather and black suede, with burgundy fur taking over the reverse Swooshes, his signature move by now as recognizable as his name. Matching burgundy laces tie the whole thing together. Travis Scott had already given it away on the red carpet at the New York premiere.

The second shoe is the Cactus Jack x The Odyssey Nike ACG Moc, with an upper fully wrapped in burgundy fur and a slip-on build. The detail that lifts it beyond a mere texture exercise is the heel pull tab, where a small charm nods to the helmet worn by Benny Safdie as King Agamemnon. Here too, Scott had already revealed it on Jimmy Fallon.

The same day the capsule dropped also brought the official music video for the film’s soundtrack, “When I’m Home,” credited to Travis Scott alongside James Blake and composer Ludwig Göransson. Now, given Göransson‘s track record with the Oscars — he’s already won the statuette for Best Original Score for Black Panther, Oppenheimer and Sinners — all that’s left is to wait until year’s end to find out whether “When I’m Home” lands a nomination, and whether we’ll get to hear it live from the Dolby Theatre.
