Usually, when we see a graphic, illustration, or any artwork full of colors, which sometimes even clash with each other, our mind immediately thinks of chaos and can’t bring itself to like it.
That’s why when I came across Ceyda Alasar‘s Instagram profile I was amazed.
Scrolling down the home page, I accidentally landed on a real pattern made of houses of all colors: pink, orange, blue, red, but instead of disorder I had the feeling that everything was in the right place.
Then, studying the image more closely, I discovered dozens and dozens of details, from a man sitting on the balcony intent on playing the guitar to a young girl leaning on the windowsill, from an old lady with a cane to a woman with her son.

Ceyda Alasar, who is known on Instagram as @monamai_, is a self-taught illustrator who lives in the San Francisco Bay Area. Here, through her works, she manages to make us travel around the world, drawing architectures that recall the Arab world, but also the classic summer houses and, of course, the typical houses of the American city.
What is never missing is the color, a riot of different tones and nuances that make the works of Ceyda Alasar immediately recognizable among a thousand.
