Difuz is a Marseille-based artist of Uruguayan origin who uses art to explore identity, contemporary rituals, and the tensions running through today’s world. His work emerges from the meeting of cultures, personal stories, and urban influences, merging into a visual narrative rich in symbols, characters, and everyday objects.

Through his art, Difuz constructs a universe that blends figures from pop culture, artifacts of shared experience, and references to folklore. His works create a dialogue between the energy of cities and the roots of distant lands like Réunion Island or Uruguay.

At the Very Yes gallery, Difuz presented Candombe, an exhibition that brings together a series of paintings divided into five cycles, each populated with characters, pop references, and fragments of real life. His visual language subverts codes, questions reality, and powerfully conveys themes such as identity, relationships, addictions, and beliefs.

The artist uses humor, love, anger, and irony to portray human relationships, belief systems, and dependencies, urging viewers to reflect on the role of art as a form of freedom and resistance. Each of his works thus becomes an invitation to share a perspective on the world that begins in the personal and extends to the collective.
