A touch of nostalgia but full of fun and energy, these are the main features that Dior and Kim Jones have put at the center of the men’s Fall 2021 collection thanks to the collaboration with the American artist Kenny Scharf.

“People don’t want to think about the everyday at the moment. So I wanted to bring some fun — though that sounds like such a silly word. Some energy, some excitement”, these are Jones’ words about the collection.

This 2020 was, without fear of denial, the worst year in history and had catastrophic consequences for many sectors and obviously, the fashion world was also affected.

Precisely for this reason, the artistic director of Dior wanted to share, through this collection, the concept of fun.

The collection, that was supposed to be presented in Beijing with an ad hoc event but in the end opted for an entirely digital presentation, is inspired by the New York of the 80s with that look a bit dandy and decadent of a period also very difficult to be able to best represent what we are experiencing for almost a year now, all over the world.

The video with which Dior presented the Men’s Fall 2021 collection, directed by French visual artist Thomas Vanz, perfectly reflects those characteristics at the basis of the creative process thanks to a colorful environment, where the silhouettes blend and blend with the strong colors typical of Scharf’s aesthetic.
Here are the looks of the collection:
