Doug Aitken continues to amaze with another incredible installation, the hypnotic Don’t Forget to Breathe. We had left the artist in Switzerland, where he had created spectacular Mirage Gstaad mirror house, now we find him in a sunny California for the launch of new site-specific work, created in collaboration with RYOT, a media company specializing in the production of virtual reality and augmented reality.

The installation presents three human figures created using the opaque resin and illuminated through LEDs programmed and synchronized with audio components that accompany the multisensorial work. About this artwork, the artist said:

“The absence of commercial logos, goods and consumers renders the store haunting and minimal. A memorial to time past”.

Don’t Forget to Breathe will be exhibited from February 8th to 17th at 6775 Santa Monica Boulevard in Los Angeles.
