Sixty-five years of rebellion, subcultures, and craftsmanship culminate in the new 1460 MIE Pascal Love Letter, a limited edition of the iconic Dr. Martens boot designed to honor both the brand’s past and future.

Born on April 1, 1960, the 1460 has spanned generations and cultural movements, preserving its rugged spirit and unmistakable identity. From factory floors to city streets, from concert stages to fashion runways, this boot has become a timeless icon. Now, for its anniversary, Dr. Martens unveils its most prestigious version yet—a tribute to Northamptonshire’s shoemaking heritage and the community that continues to shape its legend.

The design starts with an exceptional raw material: Classic Calf leather from C. F. Stead, a historic Leeds tannery that has been in operation since 1904 and has partnered with the brand since the 1980s. A blend of natural waxes and oils creates unique tonal variations that evolve over time, making each pair one of a kind. The deep burgundy shade is further enhanced by refined details, including contrast stitching inspired by the brand’s historical archives.

Key design elements include the date 1.4.60 embossed on the tongue, a leather heel loop, gold eyelets, and tonal laces. These features are framed by Dr. Martens’ signature details: the yellow welt stitching, grooved sidewall sole, and classic Puritan stitching.

The 1460 MIE Pascal Love Letter is available starting today, April 1, exclusively on drmartens.com and at select Dr. Martens stores worldwide. A tribute to those who always walk against the grain.
