Founded in Tokyo in 1994 by Shinsuke Takizawa, NEIGHBORHOOD, from a small reality of Harajuku has become over the years a cult brand of the global streetwear scene. Always inspired by the cultural movements of its time, NEIGHBORHOOD encompasses and brings with it the influence that the London punk culture and the New York hip hop scene have on young Japanese rebels. Takizawa, who has always aimed to make quality, technical products, has brought his brand to be known for its transgressive style steeped in authenticity and quality.
The collection consists of the 2976 NEIGHBORHOOD and the 1461 NEIGHBORHOOD made from classic Dr. Martens Smooth leather in black, a reference to the now established style of the Japanese brand, with contrasting details.
The stitching that has always distinguished Dr. Martens has been reworked to be coordinated with the white screen-printed NEIGHBORHOOD graphics. The co-branding is placed on a reflective stripe on the heel.
The new Dr. Martens x NEIGHBORHOOD collection will be available beginning December 4 at drmartens.com and select partners.
