Dr. Martens and Suicoke have renewed their partnership for a new collection of sandals.
The Japanese brand, which has landed men’s sandals on the streetwear planet, has combined its unique approach to design by putting together the slip-on silhouette “MURA”, with the Lorsan sole of Dr. Martens creating a new model that is not only a meeting of two different cultures, but represents a further step of Dr. Martens in the quality and design of its products.
Just as Dr. Martens transformed the work boot 60 years ago into a symbol of the counterculture, Suicoke has changed the way the streetwear world, especially the male one, has always understood sandals in a continuous evolution.
The DM MURA encompasses the philosophies of both brands from a design perspective: the easy-on, easy-off MURA upper from Suicoke rests on a custom sole, a fusion of the Japanese brand’s famous footbed that in this case is framed by Dr. Martens’ Lorsan sole. The sandal is available in both smooth black leather and black New Vibrance Croco with a neoprene upper for added comfort and flexibility.
On the sandal we find both logos of the two brands involved in the collaboration, hook-and-loop closures on the sides and a Velcro closure on the heel and, to complete the design, yellow stitching, black and yellow webbing on the heel and a custom footbed with the two logos.
The Dr. Martens x Suicoke collection will launch tomorrow, August 28, and will be available at drmartens.com and select retailers.
