Eleven Years Old and Already a Designer: Who Is Dylan and Why Is Everyone Talking About Him?

If someone told you there’s a kid from Los Angeles who, at just 11 years old, has already designed over 300 t-shirts and managed to get celebrities like Elle Fanning, Pierpaolo Piccioli, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Pharrell Williams to wear them — would you believe it? The story of Dylan’s T-Shirt Club proves it’s true. But let’s rewind to the beginning. It all started about five years ago, when Dylan (whose last name is practically nowhere to be found) began working on this one-of-a-kind project. So who is Dylan, and how did his t-shirts end up on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival?

As mentioned in a recent interview with Dazed, it all started almost as a game during the pandemic. Dylan was only six years old when he began creating t-shirts for friends and family using what he could find at home: old white tees, markers, and lots of imagination.

The secret? A naïve and deeply personal aesthetic that challenges the conventions of traditional hypewear. His designs are colorful, imperfect, full of energy and pop references — from cartoon characters to inspirational phrases written in all caps. Each piece is one-of-a-kind, handmade, and meant to be gifted, not sold. Yes, because Dylan doesn’t sell his shirts: he gives them to those he admires, who inspire him, or who he simply finds cool. A real “club,” just like the project’s name suggests.

“I think people are special and I want them to feel special when they wear my shirts,” Dylan told Dazed. His creative process is simple but surprising: he draws freehand, without preliminary sketches, letting the idea take shape in the moment. It’s an instinctive, almost punk approach — yet incredibly pure.

And maybe it’s exactly this spontaneity that strikes a chord with seasoned celebrities and designers like Pierpaolo Piccioli, who wore one of his t-shirts during an official interview. Or Michelle Pfeiffer, who was photographed wearing a shocking pink tee that read “Be kind.” Dylan has a website that works like a showcase but no e-commerce, and yet he’s already a cult name among stylists, artists, and fashion editors.
