A creative director from Earth, Ertan Atay calls himself.
He has always been interested in art and started drawing when he was very young. But after high school, he stopped drawing altogether and started doing computer illustrations.
From there everything changed, a new world opened up.
Only in 2017, Ertan Atay opened his Instagram account called “failunfailmefailun“.
“I wanted to share my emotions through my creations on my own. I didn’t want to be a mere spectator, but a producer/creator of my own life.”
His creations are funny, surprising, sometimes weird, sometimes hilarious. He says he feels arrived when people from different countries feel the same emotion when they look at his creations.
His collages mix different eras and elements, from Van Gogh to Quentin Tarantino, his imagination jumps from one-time span to another.
The most important thing is the idea for Ertan Atay, then, of course, he looks for a connection between the different characters and the objects to assemble to make the collages.
Mona Lisa, Frida Kahlo and Girl with a Pearl Earring in a scene from the legendary Friends series, Klimt’s Kiss in an iconic black and white photograph, Van Gogh in a contemporary fashion photograph. These are just some of the protagonists, artists mixing with painters, TV series and much more.
Games of words, images that undoubtedly make you reflect on the most common and delicate issues until you get to work inspired by everyday life, that praise “the weekend” and swear a deep hatred towards “Mondays”.
Ertan Atay is an artist with great potential, insuperable in creating a mix between contemporary and past, a collage capable of sending us back to the past to dive into the present.
