We have already talked about Études on the occasion of its collaboration with Veja. Today we return to talk about this French brand because of the high creative rate collaboration with Julian Farade, part of the Spring-Summer collection 2024. It is called CRÉPUSCULE and was created by the artist with chalk and oil tempera on 12 pieces and accessories of the collection with an extremely urban character.

I started by drawing roofs with chalk, then added oil pastels to get areas of flat color and shading. These shades are like shadows of people passing by, bats flying, clouds disappearing. I wanted to capture this vision-this idea of fleetingness-a kind of gentle swirl.

These are Farade’s words when she tells about the inspiration for this capsule collection, which came through the view from her apartment, on the eighth floor. This is an aspect that we also find in the colors chosen by the artist: the blue, gray Parisian sky accompanied by splashes of orange that recall the atmosphere of a sunny day. The abstract component intersects with realism, two of the prominent aspects of Farade’s art making, who in his everyday life not only paints but also sculpts, sews and uses other mediums telling stories. Usually fantastic animals and chimeras animate his creativity while in this capsule we find butterflies, crows along with chimneys that define the Parisian skyline from above. Pieces in the collection include bomber jackets, hoodies and oversized long-sleeved shirts along with cargo pants. All just right pieces for those who want to be daring with a statement piece.
