Teased in early 2020, the new NAPA by Martine Rose Fall/Winter 2020 collection is now presented with a campaign shot in East London and precisely at the barber shop SlidersCuts.
The entire collection draws inspiration from 90’s hip hop and the strong link that the artists of that time created between streetwear and luxury as well as from Napapijri‘s legacy and the use of velour and graphics that recall the Italian luxury brands.
The collection as a whole has a vintage feel to it in terms of both the color palette used and the silhouettes.
Martine Rose chose East-London as the location for the SlidersCuts campaign for many reasons. The first of these is to support a company severely affected by the crisis due to the pandemic and then to emphasize how that store plays a fundamental social role in the Black community of that specific area of the English capital.
Speaking of the campaign James Massiah, who was responsible for structuring the collection, emphasized the social importance of Barber Shops: “It’s a great space for conversation, bumping into people, old friends as well as for making new, in the party or whatever and it’s like ‘I swear we go to the same barber?”.
Below you can take a look at the campaign while the Fall/Winter 2020 collection by NAPA by Martine Rose is already available at select retailers.
