In a statement released yesterday, Foot Locker announced the imminent transformation of more than 2,000 stores, including Foot Locker, Kids Foot Locker, Lady Foot Locker, Champs Sports, and Footaction, into hubs where customers will be able to register to vote in the 2020 US Presidential Elections.
The initiative, made possible thanks to the collaboration with the non-profit organization Rock the Vote whose mission is to “engage and build the political power of young people”, aim to give its target group, young people from 18 to 24 years of age, the opportunity to exercise their right to vote and participate in the political life of the nation.

“In a year marked with such uncertainty, amid a pandemic and social unrest, our country’s future – and our collective role in shaping it – has never been more important. At Foot Locker, our mission is to inspire and empower youth culture, so partnering with Rock The Vote was a natural fit to help educate and amplify the voices of today’s youth.”- Said in a note Richard Johnson, president, and CEO of Foot Locker.
Starting today, on “National Voter Registration Day” on 22 September, customers will be able to find kiosks in most American stores where they can check their registration status, register to cast their vote, and register to receive election reminders.
An initiative that aims to help young people to become more aware, to amplify their voice, and to increase the number of voters who, according to various sources, have already experienced a positive increase in states such as Minnesota, California, Georgia, New Jersey, New Mexico, and Vermont.
