In 2014, in one of the many stops made during his long trip to Italy, the artist and advertising photographer Niels Schubert was enchanted by the particular colours and urban spaces of the Ligurian capital. The German artist decided to undertake a new photographic project, only recently completed, entitled Genoa – your colours.
The series is characterized by the grey colour of the rocks and the long concrete castings typical of the Genoese landscape. In the absence of natural beaches, these large artificial squares have been accepted over time by the thousands of tourists who flock to these areas during the summer season.
The conversion and use of urban spaces are in fact the main protagonists of the entire project, which perfectly combines abstract and impressionistic features with a sober and melancholic documentary style.
