Giorgia Bellotti and her ethereal and surreal self-portraits

Ethereal, surreal, almost fantastic, the shots of the series “Autoritratti nella mia terra” by Giorgia Bellotti, a young Italian photographer.

Giorgia has always been a person with a strong artistic flair, but only in 2012, after attending a course on the basics of photography, she became inextricably linked to her lens. Through the camera, Giorgia Bellotti isolates herself from the world to search for herself, to immerse herself in her emotions. Often this research leads Giorgia herself to put herself in front of the lens and to involve the places where she grew up and where she still lives.

Her latest project, entitled “Autoritratti nella mia terra” (Self-portraits in my land) is the maximum expression of her art and of what she wants to transmit to us. The protagonists of the shots are herself and the landscape that surrounds her. They are images in which the body and nature merge into one another and in which Giorgia’s face is always hidden, hidden by leaves, branches or flowers.

“The body plays hide and seek with nature.”

“Autoritratti nella mia terra” explores the link between nature and man, revealing the emotions, feelings, moods that arise from this connection.
