It’s news of these hours that Nike and Virgil Abloh are thinking about a new collaboration style “The 10” where, the current artistic director of Louis Vuitton Men and CEO of Off-White™ will work this time on 20 silhouettes of the Beaverton-based company and that it seems will be named “The 20”.
What we know for sure instead is that Nike and Virgil Abloh have joined forces for another kind of project, a book titled ICONS “Something’s Off”, published by TASCHEN, which analyzes the whole world of sneakers in collaboration between Off-White™ and Nike.
ICONS “Something’s Off” is a behind-the-scenes look at the inspirations and ideas that have made the collaboration between Nike and Virgil Abloh, one of the most successful ever.
“The ICONS book is, in a way, the only revealing lens to understand that the catalog of the 50-plus Nike shoes I have designed are in my mind”, Abloh said when talking about the project.
Readers will have the opportunity to read documents related to the various prototypes of the sneakers made by the Rockford, Illinois native designer, take a look at never-before-seen images and much more.
ICONS “Something’s Off” will launch on January 22th via the SNKRS app in North America while it will be released globally on February 5th.
