Often, to warm ourselves in these cold winter days, to escape from everyday life, we present photographic projects made in summer, along endless white beaches, when the light of sunset warms the faces and looks.
“RED MOON” by Arturo Bamboo is yes a photographic series made in summer, but different from all the others.
Arturo Bamboo, a Dutch photography duo composed of Arthur Groeneveld and Bamboo van Kampen that we met a few months ago when we talked about the “Summer Diary” project, is back to make us dream with the photo book “RED MOON“.

“RED MOON” is a collection of shots produced this summer in different beach locations overlooking the Mediterranean. These are analog photographs, shot on a reverse-rolled color negative film to emphasise the raw beauty of the subjects. With this technique, the photographers have obtained images with a thick grain and characterized by two colors, black and red, and the result is a collection of landscapes, silhouettes, views almost abstract and mysterious. Perhaps not the summer we dream of, but thanks to the black and especially red, it becomes intriguing, almost passionate.
