Elisa Macellari is an Italian-Tahilandese illustrator born in Perugia, based in Milan. Her style is exotic and colorful, this is probably due to the link with her homeland. After graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts in Perugia, she worked as an assistant and graphic designer at the Suzy Shammah Gallery in Milan. In 2017 she won the Gold Medal Award for Authors and in her career, there are collaborations with Mondadori, Feltrinelli, Giunti, Zanichelli, Plansponsor, Cancer World, while since 2016 she has been a constant presence on the pages of Donna Moderna magazine. In the creative phase, we often use the light table that she uses to make pencil sketches, then digitally colored.

The freshness of his works, the harmony of colors and composition, are the elements that make up the unique Elisa’s style, who always knows how to amaze. Papaya Salad is her debut graphic novel, recently released for BAO Publishing and tells the story of her great-uncle Sompong, who came from Europe to Thailand on the eve of Second World War. In search of his place in the world, the protagonist of a mild and resolute character tells his adventures.
