Invasivo, the photographic project by Samm Escobar

For decades tourism in Mexico has concentrated on the coasts overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, but in recent years even the part of the Pacific Ocean is experiencing rediscovery. Tourism, however, does not always bring with it positive changes, for example, the influx of a large number of people can end up ruining and spoiling places lost and where nature still dominates the rest. It is precisely the theme of man’s impact on the environment that is at the center of Samm Escobar‘s artistic research and his photographic project Invasivo

Samm Escobar’s shots show the beaches of Puerto Escondido, real hidden paradises, contaminated by huge luminous signs with the words “Motel”, “Park”, “Bar”, digitally added.

The photographer wants to raise public awareness of the climate crisis, environmental pollution, problems that if not addressed in a short time will have irreversible effects on our planet.

In our gallery you can find the shots of Invasivo, to discover other works by Samm Escobar follow him on Instagram

Zosen, a mural for peace and freedom in Israel

Zosen, a mural for peace and freedom in Israel

Emanuele D'Angelo · 4 days ago · Art

Zosen, an Argentinean street artist, has decided to paint a wall for peace, for a future without borders, without prejudice, without paranoia, only with freedom and love.
The work was made in Jerusalem, in Israel, precisely in a public market in the industrial district of Talpiot.
Despite their colorful and playful aesthetics, Zosen’s works are known to speak out against social injustice in the world and beyond.
The multicolored, two-dimensional characters, though meaningless at first glance, criticize the corruption of today’s society.

Zosen | Collater.al

It was a great challenge for him and an enormous responsibility to paint his first mural in Jerusalem with all the ideas and prejudices existing in Israel.
Before he started talking to the locals, he discovered that the younger generation is tired of these problems.
For example, in Jerusalem they have their own stone to build their houses, by law they can only use this white/cream stone and it is not possible to paint on it, so he decided to paint only on concrete.
During the time he was there, the government was organizing the third election for prime minister in a year because nobody on the political scene seems to represent the interests of all the citizens living in Israel today.

With a few lines on his social media, Zosen explained why he decided to take this very job.
“It’s time to think global, our home is the earth and we must share with others, not be selfish, remember history so as not to repeat the same mistakes. One world, one love!

All the must-see April Netflix films and tv series

All the must-see April Netflix films and tv series

Giulia Guido · 4 days ago · Art

Never before have we needed our favorite movies and TV series to try to make time pass more quickly. Those who rely on Netflix don’t have to be afraid, the streaming platform has a lot of news in store for us. Let’s discover them together!

Studio Ghibli’s movies

After making available about 14 titles from the famous Japanese animation studio, this month Netflix will make available only one title from Studio Ghibli, the famous “Howl’s Moving Castle“, considered by many one of Hayao Miyazaki’s best works.

Howl’s Moving Castle will be available from Wednesday, April 1.

Money Heist 4

The third season has left us quite a few question marks. We’re just about to find out what fate awaits the Professor and the whole gang. Unfortunately, last season’s finale didn’t bode well, but we now know that anything is possible for the most famous thieves in the world.

The fourth part of Money Heist will be available from Friday, April 3

Sergio

Presented at the Sundance Film Festival, Sergio is a biographical film that traces the life of Sérgio Vieira de Mello, a Brazilian diplomat who died in an attack in Baghdad. The protagonist is played by a face known to Netflix fans, that of Wagner Moura, Narcos‘ Pablo Escobar.

Sergio will be available from Friday, April 17

The Midnight Gospel

Crossing psychedelic worlds in his universe simulator, a split-second explores existential questions about life, death and all the rest” so quotes the official plot of this new animated series by Pendleton Ward, creator of Adventure Time, and comedian Duncan Trussell.

The Midnight Gospel will be available from Monday, April 20

The Willoughbys

A perfect animated film to watch with the whole family. The released storyline promises a bit of everything, laughter, tears and, of course, unfailing morality: convinced they’d be better off raising themselves, the Willoughby children hatch a sneaky plan to send their selfish parents on vacation. The siblings then embark on their own high-flying adventure to find the true meaning of family.  Starring Will Forte, Maya Rudolph, Alessia Cara, Terry Crews, Martin Short, Jane Krakowski, and Ricky Gervais.

The Willoughbys will be available from Wednesday 22 April

After Life 2

There isn’t yet an official trailer for the second season of After Life but Netflix hasn’t waited to communicate its renewal. Ricky Gervais‘s show is a great example of black humor in which you cry and laugh, a bit like in life.

The second season of After Life will be available from Wednesday, April 29

AZIMUT, the architecture of Venice fragmented with mirrors

AZIMUT, the architecture of Venice fragmented with mirrors

Emanuele D'Angelo · 4 days ago · Art

The French designer and artist Arnauld Lapierre has delivered his latest installation “AZIMUT” to the magical city of Venice. It consists of 16 batteries and motors recycled in steel and repainted in black, in which 16 mirrors have been mounted, which gently rotate in order to offer a fragmented view of the architecture of the city.

The Gothic of the city from another point of view, sitting on the shore of the slavers it will be possible to admire the architectural details that fragment and enlarge, offering a captivating new view.
Motorized and synchronized, the discs of the mirror slowly direct the viewer’s gaze towards the Doge’s Palace to the bell tower of San Marco, to the church of San Giorgio Maggiore which is facing the water.

The French architect is known for his work with mirrors, this project by Lapierre aims to offer the viewer a “dislocated immersion of reality and abstract contemplation“.
By abstracting and fragmenting the existing architecture, he recomposes it into a sort of network. A dynamic art installation that offers an alternative perspective of Venice.

AZIMUT offers a glimpse of the architectural elements and the sky above it, offering “the possibility of an escape both detailed and fractioned from our environment“.
