Issey Miyake and Moleskine bring notes — and us — back to paper

At a time when everything seems to pass through a screen, Issey Miyake and Moleskine choose to return to paper. With the collaboration NOTE-A-NOTE, the two brands combine their visions to celebrate the simplicity of the analog gesture — that slow, mindful movement that turns a thought into something tangible.

The idea was born from observing a ritual that’s becoming increasingly rare but still holds great meaning: the exchange of business cards. A small act of connection that NOTE-A-NOTE reinterprets in a contemporary way, blending the essential nature of a notebook with the elegance of a cardholder. The result is a compact object designed to fit in the palm of your hand, to be opened like a book — or a memory.

Inside, two expandable pockets hold up to twenty business cards on each side, while the accordion pages invite you to jot down everything worth remembering — an idea that came in a flash, a sentence overheard on the street, a thought not to be lost. As in every Moleskine, the elastic band is there, used here with a bold, graphic gesture that cuts across the cover like a signature mark.

NOTE-A-NOTE is therefore more than an accessory: it’s a small manifesto about memory, about the importance of stopping to write, to preserve, to touch paper. A design object that reflects the philosophy of Issey Miyake and Moleskine, where form and function meet in perfect balance.
